Dr. Susan Baker
Dr. Baker graduated from Norcross High School and later completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Mathematics at Berry College in Rome, Georgia, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1979. Dr. Baker received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta, Georgia in 1985. She continued her studies at MCG and completed her Periodontics Residency in 1987. Today Dr. Baker practices the Specialty of Periodontics with an emphasis in Laser Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.
In her role as Clinical Assistant Professor, Periodontics at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Baker has instructed dental students in periodontal techniques and assisted with curriculum development. She continues to further her own clinical education through professional memberships in the Northern District Dental Society, Georgia Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Georgia Society of Periodontists (President 2000-2002), International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. Dr. Baker has also completed special training in laser dentistry through the World Clinical Laser Institute, the world's largest laser education organization.
Dr. Baker lives in Norcross and is very active in the dental community; she hosts a local study club to support ongoing clinical education for dental hygienists in the North Fulton and Gwinnett area. Devoted to sharing the message of oral health, Dr. Baker traveled to Nicaragua in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017 on mission trips to provide dental care to underserved patients. She and other local dentists provide clinical services at the Georgia Mission of Mercy (GMOM) free dental care events.
